Phillip Petillo Jr. is an executive with many years of experience steering organizations, influencing industry legislation, and building high-performing educational and labor programs. As Executive Director of the Mechanical Contractors Association of New Jersey, he leads statewide initiatives in collective bargaining, labor relations, workforce development, trust fund administration, advocacy, and strategic partnerships driving measurable growth, compliance, and industry alignment.
He brings deep expertise across negotiations, association management, educational programming, event and logistics oversight, board governance, and legislative relations. His leadership has strengthened contractor-union collaboration and elevated industry education standards.
Before entering executive leadership, Phil spent years shaping young minds as a full-time History and Social Science instructor at the prestigious Academy of Saint Elizabeth in Convent Station, New Jersey. He also served as Varsity Cross Country, Basketball, and Track Coach; Assistant Athletic Director; Director of Online Education; and member of multiple Middle States Accreditation Committees. His early career built the foundation for his strengths in people development, curriculum design, communication, and institutional leadership.
Phil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in History from Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey.
